James Cochran Lindsay

James Cochran Lindsay, 75. Maplcton, died Wednesday in the Payson City Hospital. He was born March 25, 1898 in Spanish Fork, a son of Peter and Evelyn Hales Lindsay. He married Edna Jane Losser on Dec. 10, 1918 in Provo and the marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Educated in Spanish Fork schools. Mr. Lindsay moved to Mapleton as a young man, and he lived there for 52 years. He was a cattleman and farmer. He was active in the LDS Church, serving as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple. At the time of his death he was a high priest.

Survivors include his widow, three sons and three daughters, James Charles Lindsay, Las Vegas, Nov.; William Bevan Lindsay and Paul Lindsay, both ofSpringville; Mrs. Allen (Jean) Strasburg, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Nevin (Fay) Williams, Provo, and Mrs. Bob (Carol) Moffitt, Spanish Fork; 26grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother and five sisters, Jay P. Jones and Mrs. Charles (Jenny) Rieley, both of California; Evelyn Williams, Blanche Jensen and Mrs. Phil (Kathryn) Boyack, all of Spanish Fork, and Ix)raReifofOhio

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton Fourth Ward Chapel with Bishop J. Collin Allan officiating. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, Spanish Fork, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
