Les was born in Dover, England, and moved to Montreal, QC in 1921 and then to Vancouver, BC with Cable & Wireless Ltd (1923). After his marriage to May, they lived in Vancouver BC, Halifax NS, London, England, and Bamfield BC from 1935 to 1948. They retired to Victoria BC in 1948.
