bullet  General Notes:

in 1861 there is a grandson called john jackman danby born in clerkenwell
I am beginning to think that Mary Ann was married before and John Jackman Danby senior (1851) is her son and John Jackman jnr (1858) was his son. She was 7 years older than Clement and Mary Ann is listed as siser to John Jackman Danby senior in1851

Notes for Mary Ann Danby
Excerpt from letter dated 27 Feb 1954 from Clara Magery Copithorne to Alice Danby: ." By the way, I left out the most touching part of poor little Mary Ann Danby's story. When she was an old lady of over 80 she heard that the grave of her first love was to be moved in alterations to the cemetery. She got up at the crack of dawn, packed herself a lunch and walked to the church yard. There she stayed all day to see that the workman did no desecration the bones of the beloved. Poor thing, she had been Mrs. Nidd for so many years but lived her youth again with that brilliant young man from Yorkshire. His body must have been dust by that time & mother said all the remains from many graves had to be put into a common grave.
