Okay, although Joe Rush claims to be unmarried in 1871 - I believe he was married to Mary - and had 1 child, but was not with his wife - becuase Mary was staying with her mother in 1871 but listed as 'married' -
Now have confirmation as per Scotland's people
in 1863 Joe rush and Mary Thorns had their first child (as far as I can tell)
Okay, but they are still in Dewsbury in 1861 - where they have a son called Joe b 1861

Interestingly, I've just realized that Joe and Mary got married the same day that his maternal grandfather (John Armitage Rush) died.
