Anne Clinch of 2/60 Glastonbury Dr. Highton 3216 ph. 03/ 5241 9585 advises Thomas joined the 96 Manchester Regiment of Foot as a labourer in 1830, in 1839 embarked as guard on "Barossa" convict ship to Sydney Cove 8 Dec 1839. Transferred to Norfolk Island, then Tasmania. Took discharge in 1844 and came to Geelong Victoria.
