1 Correspondence (Email), Email from Susan Parkinson July 2008. Cit. Date: 22 Jul 2008. Cit. ID: COR Susan Parkinson July 2008. Surety: 3. Hello Melanie
I have just come across your suberb site and am delighted to see all the information re the Whitworhs and Parkinsons in Dewsbury. Everything you have agrees with ny own research but thought you might to know one or two more facts about the Parkinsons. Apologies if you already know the following.
My husband is Geoffrey Parkinson(b.1948), son of Arthur and Winnifred Parkinson. Arthur(1919-1999) was the son of Norman, ( born 1888,died 1946). Norman was a miner and lived all his life in Dewsbury. My husband lived there from the age of 5, both his parents died there.
Norman was the son of William Parkison born1865, who was the son of Rachel Parkinson, (b.1845)father unknown. Rachel was the daughter of Nanny/Nancy Parkinson, again father unknown.
Nanny married a Robert Hartridge in 1848 in Dewsbury. They had a son Frank in 1862.
Rachel, Nanny's daughter married twice: 1; Wiliam Bodenson 1867
2; Charles Bowerman 1877
there doesn't appear to be any issue from either marriage.
Hope you find this of some interest.
Best wishes
Susan Parkinson
