bullet  General Notes:

Occupation CC Steward
I was told that Sidney committed suicide while his wife was waiting in the hall to see him - the story goes that he was having an affair with another woman and couldn't take it.
Interestingly, one day in December probably 1977 I was in a Department store in Central London (off Trafalgar Square) buying a birthday card for my brother. I didn't have any cash on me so I was forced to write a cheque for a pathetic amount - a pound or two I was buying one of those ridiculously oversized cards, anyway, when I went to pay by cheque, the middle aged woman took a look at the cheque and quizzed me about my family. I told her what I knew (which was very little then) and she turned out to be one of Sidney's neices and she said that they knew this other woman and that it was all very sad because they had liked her!
