  General Notes:

Soon after they were married they built a house in East Bountiful Utah where they kept the post office for a number of years.
In the early eighteens he established a photographic gallery in his home, but later built an amusement hall called Hales Hall which included a photographic studio.
When dances and parties were in progress he would be finishing pictures in the kitchen. He had a flashlight powder which he burned to take pictures at night.
Later he was a travelling photographer. taking pictures of people in their homes. Quite a number of years later Mr Hales left Rexburgh and went to Rome, Georgia where he worked in an art studio. After his marriage to Jessie Anderson, he established a photographic business in Cordell, Georgia
